All Hallow’s E’e

October 29, 2009

Well, kiddies. It’s Halloween soon. What does the JCA have in store for you?

Well, if we had some more feedback, I’d imagine a costume contest, as well as a showing, but there wasn’t.

So we’re not. Not having a contest, that is.

However, we are having a showing of some creepifying stuff.

I wish I knew more, but usually, Halloween has been the purvey of our Secretary, the Russian Ninja Pirate.

Not Russian Ninja Pirate

Swear to goddess, that's on the first page when you search "Russian Ninja Pirate".

He finds the creepy stuff and we show it.

I feel an exceeding need to make sure *everyone* gets to see this.

Catching Up

October 9, 2009

With the last season well over, we figured it would be a good time to catch you people up on some of the stuff you’ve missed by not being obsessive and/or observant and/or caring.

On Adaptations

October 6, 2009

I have nothing in particular against remakes/covers. Some of them are really good. Cases in point:

Nena – 99 Luftballons

Nena – 99 Red Ballons

Goldfinger – 99 Red Balloons

Nena created an English version of their song, “99 Luftballons”, which then Goldfinger did a rock cover of. I really like the original German and the cover version, the singing fits the meter well. It looks like Nena’s speaking English wasn’t really good enough to sound “good”.

Sonoda Kenichi Night!

October 1, 2009

This week, we’re proud to bring you two animated pieces that are adapted from something close to our president’s heart.

He has no heart, you say?

Nay, he does; that comment just pierced it like a sabre through gelatin.
