Sixth Samurai?

I mean, sixth week.

We’re watching Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai!

This film probably inspired quite a few samurai and cowboy films to come after it. The Magnificent Seven, for one.

Anyway, this film is pretty long (3 hours, 27 min!, with credits), so we’ll probably start a little early, and end pretty late.

While we will see tropes and clichés, remember how old this film is. It helped establish those things in the first place. :p

Serious Mecha(s)

Last night, JCA watched

Gun Parade March
and
Bokurano

This is different from what was indicated in the email, because we had some technical difficulties, i.e., the version of Gun X Sword had the wrong language subtitles.

However, we got to see mecha in depressing situations. Earth mostly conquered by alien lifeforms. A strange “game” that clearly is more than mecha fighting mecha.

By the way, Haruka (Minami-ke) kicks arse.
